ER Solar collaborated closely with electrical contractor Msquared Electrical to deliver two large-scale 99.75kW turnkey solar solutions—one for Lockerbie Secondary School and one for Lockerbie Specialist School—in Kalkallo, seamlessly integrating renewable energy into these state-of-the-art new educational facilities serving Melbourne’s rapidly expanding northern growth corridor.
Installed during the construction phase, the dual systems were meticulously coordinated with the building team, featuring detailed energy modelling to align generation with the schools’ high-demand profiles for classrooms, specialist learning areas, administrative offices, IT suites, lighting, heating/cooling, and shared amenities. Each campus boasts premium Tier-1 Jinko Tiger Neo modules mounted flat on trim deck roofs for optimal north-facing exposure, paired with reliable Sungrow inverters housed in plant areas for efficient, low-maintenance operation.
This landmark project transforms the Lockerbie campuses into models of sustainable education, delivering substantial ongoing savings for the Victorian Department of Education, drastically reducing grid dependency and carbon emissions, and offering students hands-on exposure to cutting-edge renewable technology in purpose-built, future-focused learning environments.
